Barcelona not looking to sign Persie for now

Herald Globe (ANI) Thursday 9th February, 2012

Spanish giants Barcelona has ruled out a move for the in-form Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie, but has refused to rule out a move for him at a later date.

Barcelona chief Josep Maria Bartomeu said the club is not looking to sign Persie at the moment.

"There is nothing going on at the moment. There are some rumors, but this is not the right time to talk about Van Persie. We have to focus on our performances on the pitch," The Mirror quoted Bartomeu, as saying.

The Dutch forward has only one year left in his Arsenal contract. There have been reports that Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is keen to reunite him with former Arsenal teammate Cesc Fabregas. (ANI)
