Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah met a group of 160 students from militancy-hit families of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, and asked them to follow the path of truth, righteousness and secularism.

The youth who are in the age group of 15 to 24 years are on "Mission Watan Ko Jano" sponsored jointly by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the State Rehabilitation Council, Jammu and Kashmir.

Abdullah also asked them to take advantage of vast opportunities available in the fields of education and sports in the country.

Specially emphasizing on energy saving, Abdullah said that it is important to conserve the natural resources for sustainable development.

Praising the initiative "Mission Watan Ko Jano", Abdullah said that such exposures help in improving understanding of youth about the world around them.

He hoped that more such programmes would be undertaken in future.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was also present on the occasion. (ANI)
