Pak general elections to be held on Oct 18, says Sindh Home Minister

Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wassan has said that general elections in the country would be held on October 18 this year.
Wassan said some people want early elections, but no one wants the end of the democratic system, The News reports.
Earlier this month, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had said that his party wanted early and fair elections in Pakistan.
Expressing his reservations over the completion of computerized voters' lists, he said that the lists would not be completed by May.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had also demanded for an early election under the new and transparent voters' lists, adding that his party would avoid alliances with political forces whose leaders' assets were abroad.
"We support early polls. However, we want the general elections are held under new and transparent voter lists," Khan said. (ANI)
