Herald Globe (IANS) Friday 10th February, 2012

Two minor girls were gang-raped in separate incidents in the capital, police said Friday.

In the first incident, a minor girl was gangraped inside a moving car by two friends of her brother-in-law Tuesday in west Delhi's Kanjhawla area.

The accused, identified as Amit and Manoj, in their early 30s, have criminal background.

"They dragged the victim inside a car around 7.30 p.m. Tuesday when she was returning from Utsav Vihar market," said a senior police official.

The accused raped her by turns inside the moving car and left her in Kanjhawla forest around 12 a.m.

"She managed to reach home late in the night and a case was registered on Wednesday morning. As per her statement, the accused were arrested later," said the official.

In another incident, a Class 8 student of a government school was abducted and gang-raped by three people, including a juvenile, in east Delhi's Jyoti Nagar Thursday, said a senior police official.

The victim was abducted in a car by the accused who took her to a room and raped her.

"They threatened the victim with dire consequences if she reported the incident to anyone. But she approached police and the trio accused, identified as Gaurav, 23, Harish, 21, and a juvenile were arrested Friday," said the official.

Gaurav is already married and has a child.

"Harish proposed to the victim a few days ago but she refused his proposal. Since then he was on the lookout to take revenge on her," said the official as per the statement by the victim.
