PanARMENIAN.Net - An Armenian startup called Embry offers a comfortable and easy way of tracking one's weight and counting calories.
The name originated from the word "Embrion" because of its initial shape. Later, based on more research and professional feedback, the team decided to modify it to Embry.
Embry helps overweight people slim down by letting them see the direct impact of their physical activity on their weight, using a foot-wearable device.
The app provides statistics on lost kilograms, sitting hours, steps taken and calories burned.
According to the people behind the startup, Embry is the only activity tracker that tracks lost kilograms. With a built-in smart scale, the app is an elegant, highly innovative and an all in one solution for weight loss.
Embry was among the 15 Armenian startups that were recently unveiled to German business circles in Berlin. The Armenian Startup Academy Berlin (ASAB) was organised by the Support to SME Development in Armenia (SMEDA) project, which is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Programme.
SMEDA is part of the EU4Business and EU4Innovation initiatives of the European Union.
