SouthStar EMS is the first company in the US to have its employees complete NEMTAC's Certified Transport Specialist (CTS) certification.
Scottsdale, AZ (Merxwire) - SouthStar EMS, a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) company based in Augusta, GA, is committed to continuing education and is recognized by the Non Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission (NEMTAC). The company is the first company in the US to have a full Certified Transport Specialist (CTS) employee certification program at NEMTAC.
Originally founded in 1976 as the Richmond Ambulance, SouthStar EMS is committed to providing quality service to its customers. The company has expanded their capabilities to operate in multiple counties in Georgia and South Carolina under a single universal name. Each one of their divisions reflects the same high standards of professional skill and transportation that only 40 years of continuous service can teach.
"After becoming involved with NEMTAC and serving on their Advisory Board, CTS certification became an important program for us to support," explains Jim Adkins, CEO for SouthStar EMS, "It's more than just a patch on the sleeves of our employees. CTS certification represents an ongoing commitment to excellence and dedication to service."
The CTS certification course is NEMTAC's nationally accredited program dedicated to the non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) professional. This innovative online certification course covers a broad range of topics including customer service, life safety and driver education modules. The modules have been developed in partnership with CareerCert, an industry leading provider of online education. The CTS certification course is geared to meet or exceed many credentialing requirements that are prevalent within the industry.
"We are thrilled to announce that each of SouthStar's NEMT employees have completed the CTS training," said Melissa Jankowski, Executive Director for NEMTAC. "This is a reflection of their tremendous teamwork and dedication to being a leader within the NEMT industry."
SouthStar EMS is a highly skilled and professional private medical transport service providing critical ambulance and NEMT services for many of the area's top specialized care centers, both for local and long distance transport of stable and unstable patients. SouthStar's mission is to build relationships, touch lives and serve the community by providing emergent and non-emergent medical transportation to those in need in a timely and safe manner.
Non Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission (NEMTAC) was established as a healthcare nonprofit organization to enhance and promote the quality of care in America's medical transportation system. NEMTAC standards represent industry best practices designed to ensure consistently high-quality customer care, safe vehicle operations and ethical business practices.
