The Cleveland Browns closed their facility in Berea, Ohio, for the second time in as many days Wednesday after another player tested positive for COVID-19.
The team announced that last week's hero, linebacker Sione Takitaki, was put on the reserve/COVID-19 list and that he will be one of four players -- possibly five -- who will miss Sunday's game with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Defensive end Myles Garrett, fullback Andy Janovich, and backup defensive end Joe Jackson are also on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday afternoon they would not be available for the Browns (7-3) when they visit the Jaguars (1-9). Offensive lineman Chris Hubbard is also on the list, but Stefanski said he "has a chance" to return.
The Browns said they were informed of Takitaki's positive test on Wednesday morning. The team worked remotely for the remainder of the day during contact tracing.
Takitaki intercepted a Carson Wentz pass and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown in the Browns' win over the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Takitaki also recorded three tackles, including one for loss. Takitaki has started eight of the 10 games he's played in this season.
The Browns will also be without star cornerback Denzel Ward (calf).
