The CDF Foundation, chaired by Taiwanese entrepreneur Angelo Koo, recently cooperated with the China Life Insurance Company to sponsor 170 students to enjoy the performance by one of TaiwanУЂтЌтЂs most prestigious Taiwanese opera troupes.
Taipei, Taiwan (Merxwire) -УТ The students from Changhua, Chiayi and Nantou visited the National Taichung Theater for УЂтЌХThe Khun Island,УЂтЌТ the latest creative work by the Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Culture Group. The opera takes inspiration from a folk legend in Tainan, which told the stories of the turf wars and final reconciliation of the several Taoist deities presiding at the more than three-century-old Nankunshen Temple. Ming Hwa Yuan, founded in 1929, mobilized the whole troupe and used a 5,000 lumen laser projector to re-create the epic battles involving the deities and their troops.
УЂтЌХNowadays students donУЂтЌтЂt have much contact with traditional opera. We look forward to help them experience the charm of traditional Taiwanese opera through this one-day art tour,УЂтЌТ the CDF Foundation said.
The CDF Foundation is dedicated to helping underprivileged students in Taiwan. In additional to organization art tours, the CDF Foundation also runs a scholarship program for vocational high school students since 2017 and has helped more than 300 students over the years.
