PASIG CITY, Jan. 17 (PIA) -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) strengthens its community relations and poverty alleviation efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
NCRPO chief Police Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao recently led the simultaneous barangay visitations.
"Ang Team NCRPO ay patuloy na maglilingkod ng Tapat, May Tapang at Malasakit sa Mamamayan para sa ikauunlad ng ating bansang Pilipinas," said Danao.
Team NCRPO has been raising awareness to residents of Metro Manila on COVID-19 prevention through Enhanced NCRPO Project C.A.R.E program. Likewise, an information dissemination campaign was also held to include topics on Anti-Terrorism/KKDAT/ELCAC; Bomb Awareness; Anti-Criminality; Anti-Illegal Drugs; Republic Act 11313 (Safe Spaces Act); Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children); and Republic Act 8353 (Anti-Rape Law).
A gift giving activity was also conducted led by the NCRPO chief. Danao, together with the Metro Manila Police District Directors, COPs/ Station Commanders, Force Commander, RMFB and Barangay Captains, personally handed the food packs InfoCARE Health Kits and flyers to the underprivileged beneficiaries.
According to NCRPO, a total of 294 Barangays were visited by the team with a total of 10,490 beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, NCRPO chief Danao encouraged the beneficiaries and barangay officials to support and actively take part in the campaign against illegal drugs, corruption, criminality and terrorism.
He also reiterated that the community may report crimes, erring PNP members or any concerns to NCRPO text hotline numbers "Isumbong Kay RD NCRPO" at O915- 888-9181 for Globe subscribers and 0999-901-8181 for Smart subscribers. (PIA-NCR)
