Brandon Ingram led the way with 25 points Tuesday night as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Brooklyn Nets 119-109 in New York.
Immanuel Quickley added 24 points while Scottie Barnes amassed 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Raptors, who have won five of six. Jakob Poeltl also was a force with 12 points and 10 rebounds. RJ Barrett chipped in with 13 points as all five Toronto starters finished in double figures.
Nic Claxton recorded 21 points and eight rebounds for the Nets, who have lost three straight and dropped to 1-10 on the season.
Michael Porter Jr. also contributed 21 points while Noah Clowney scored 12 of his 18 points in the first quarter and grabbed eight rebounds in the game. Egor Demin added 16 points.
Toronto took an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter after leading by as many as 14 in the third.
Poeltl's floating jumper bumped the Raptors' lead to 11 early in the fourth. Toronto led 102-89 with 7:41 to go after a 7-0 run.
Porter's dunk chopped the margin to eight at 108-100 with 5:14 left before the Raptors pulled away down the stretch.
The Nets had an energetic start and were quick to get back in transition defense in building an 18-10 lead. The Raptors got some spark from their reserves and ended the quarter on a 7-0 run, cutting the Nets lead to 30-28.
The Raptors started to establish their fast break to get some easier chances and scored the first six points of the second quarter.
They opened a nine-point lead on Collin Murray-Boyles' 3-pointer with 4:45 left in the half. The Nets replied with five straight points, but could not keep pace with the Raptors, who led 60-52 at halftime.
Toronto had a 19-6 advantage in bench points in the first half.
Toronto led 72-59 after Poeltl's driving dunk on Barnes' nifty set up with 8:27 left in the third quarter. The lead reached 14 before the Nets whittled it down to 76-71 on Terance Mann's running layup with 3:50 remaining.
Brooklyn further sliced the lead and were within 83-81 before Toronto scored six straight to lead 89-81 after three quarters.
The Raptors outrebounded the Nets, 50-36 and nearly doubled their hosts output in the paint, 68-36.
Brooklyn stayed within striking distance by sinking 31-of-32 free throws, including 10-of-10 by Porter.
