Adolis Garcia homered among his three hits and drove in three runs Saturday to lead the Texas Rangers to a 4-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox in Arlington, Texas.
Garcia broke a 2-2 tie by hitting a leadoff home run in the fourth off Boston starter Walker Buehler (0-1). He also collected a two-run double in the first and hit a leadoff double in the sixth.
Corey Seager added two hits and a run for Texas, which has won two of the first three games in the four-game series.
Boston received two hits from both Kristian Campbell and Alex Bregman. Campbell hit the first home run of his major league career.
Boston trailed 4-3 after Romy Gonzalez scored on a two-out single by Carlos Narvaez in the eighth, but Chris Martin pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the save. Hoby Milner earned the win for tossing 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Buehler, who was making his Red Sox debut, allowed four runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out three.
The Rangers scored two runs against Buehler in the bottom of the first. After singles by Seager and Wyatt Langford, Garcia hit a two-out, two-run double to left-center field that gave Texas a 2-0 lead.
Boston sliced its deficit in half when Rafael Devers drew a bases-loaded walk in the second to make it 2-1. It was the fourth walk issued by Texas starter Tyler Mahle, who was pulled from the game after the at-bat. Mahle allowed a run on two hits in 1 2/3 innings. He struck out three.
The Red Sox tied the game on Campbell's home run in the top of the fourth, but Garcia homered in the bottom half of the inning to put the Rangers in front 3-2.
Texas extended its lead to 4-2 in the fifth when Leody Taveras reached on a bunt single, stole second and scored on a Marcus Semien single.
Texas third baseman Josh Smith left the game after colliding with a fence while chasing a foul ball in the bottom of the first. Ezequiel Duran replaced Smith.
