Calgary native Jake Neighbours scored two goals and Joel Hofer made 27 saves, lifting the visiting St. Louis Blues to a 4-2 victory over the Flames on Saturday.
Robert Thomas collected a power-play goal and an assist and Pius Suter also tallied for the Blues, who rebounded from a 5-0 season-opening setback to the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.
St. Louis has won seven in a row against Calgary and nine of the last 10 meetings.
Matt Coronato scored two goals and Dustin Wolf turned aside 24 shots while making his third start in four days for the Flames.
Calgary went 1-for-6 on the power play to come up short in its bid to win its fourth straight home opener.
Neighbours capped his two-goal performance by deflecting home defenseman Colton Parayko's blast from the point to stake St. Louis to a 3-2 lead at 11:07 of the third period.
Suter tallied nearly 2 1/2 minutes later after deflecting home defenseman Tyler Tucker's shot from the point.
Calgary opened the scoring with 5:11 remaining in the first period as St. Louis' Philip Broberg served a tripping penalty.
Stationed in the slot, Joel Farabee drew the attention of Hofer before sliding the puck to Coronato. The latter wired a sharp-angle shot from along the goal line that caromed off Tucker and into the net for his first goal of the season.
The Blues forged a tie with 7:19 remaining in the second period after Neighbours settled a saucer pass from Thomas and backhanded the puck past Wolf.
With Calgary's Mikael Backlund in the penalty box for holding, Thomas tallied under two minutes later after skating out from along the goal line and wiring a shot from near the left circle that sailed under the crossbar.
Coronato converted a partial breakaway 32 seconds later to level the contest at 2-2.
