The NHL announced a pair of $2,500 fines on Sunday to Tyler Myers of the Vancouver Canucks and fellow defenseman Ian Cole of the Utah Mammoth.
Myers, 35, was disciplined for slashing Edmonton Oilers superstar captain Connor McDavid during Saturday's 3-1 loss. Myers, who is in his 17th NHL season, has two shots on goal in two games this season.
Cole, 36, earned his fine for a dangerous trip on the Nashville Predators' Steven Stamkos during Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory. Cole, who is in his 16th NHL season, has four penalty minutes in two games.
