Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour is taking a temporary leave for a family matter, the team announced on Saturday.
'No further details will be shared at this time, and the team requests that his family's privacy be respected during this period,' the team posted on X ahead of the Kraken's game Saturday night in Toronto.
Montour, 31, is off to a strong start with four assists through four games in his second season with Seattle.
He has posted 297 points (84 goals, 213 assists) in 605 career games with the Anaheim Ducks, Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers and Kraken. The 2014 second-round pick by Anaheim won the 2024 Stanley Cup with Florida.
