Yanni Gourde scored two unassisted goals and the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning stretched their winning streak to six games by downing the Detroit Red Wings 6-3 on Friday afternoon.
Darren Raddysh had one goal and two assists and Jake Guentzel contributed a goal and an assist. Gage Goncalves and Brandon Hagel added goals, while Nikita Kucherov extended his point streak to eight games with a pair of assists. Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 33 shots.
J.T. Compher, Michael Rasmussen and Dylan Larkin scored goals for the Red Wings, while John Gibson made 22 saves.
Compher gave Detroit a 1-0 lead at 11:29 of the opening period. Rasmussen won a puck battle along the boards and shoveled it to Compher, who ripped a one-timer past Vasilevskiy on the stick side.
Raddysh tied it with 2:53 remaining in the period on a power-play goal. With Alex DeBrincat in the penalty box for slashing, Raddysh ripped a straight on shot that rocketed past Gibson's glove side.
Tampa Bay led 4-3 after two periods.
Goncalves scored 34 seconds into the second period. Defenseman Albert Johansson whiffed on a clearing attempt and Goncalves flicked the puck past Gibson. Oliver Bjorkstrand and Nick Paul got the assists.
Gourde made it 3-1 at 3:01 of the period. Red Wings forward Nate Danielson tipped the puck toward Gibson, who had to stop it with his pad. Gourde then jammed in the rebound.
Rasmussen scored 12 seconds later, tapping in a rebound of a Compher shot. Gourde scored again with 3:51 left in the period, taking advantage of traffic around the net to fire a shot past a screened Gibson.
Larkin responded with a shot from the left circle that trickled off Vasilevskiy's glove. Lucas Raymond and Simon Edvinsson collected the assists.
During a 4-on-4 situation, Guentzel deflected in a Raddysh shot with 7:23 remaining in regulation to give the Lightning some breathing room. Hagel clinched Tampa Bay's win with an empty-net goal.
